This former presbytery was built in the 14th and 15th centuries in the heart of the historic and tourist centre of Olliergues, an old citadel reputed to be impregnable and named Olerg. It had been known since antiquity, when Gaul was controlled by the Roman legions. Thereafter, it became a powerful seigneury from 1208 to 1789.
Opposite the fourteenth-century Gothic church listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, it stands south-facing, at the foot of the fortified castle, former home of the Tour d'Auvergne family, lords of Turenne. At the back a small garden.
Composed of a main building flanked to the south by a turret topped with a pepper pot, the presbytery has approximately 268.62 m² of living space on a complete basement.
On the ground floor:
– an entrance of 13.88 m²;
– a west living room of 22.76 m². Stone fireplace. Trumeau decorated by two plaster pilasters. Godin stove. Parquet;
– a west office of 10.42 m². Parquet;
– a corridor of 2.05 m²;
– a corridor of 6.82 m²;
– One bedroom is 14.79 m². Chimney. Closets. Ladder parquet;
– a north workshop of 11.15 m²;
– a laundry room of 10.72 m². Access to the garden via an external staircase;

– a 7.30 m² shower room in the tower. Shower. Washbasin. Wc. Washing machine.
Access to the upper floors is via an elegant carved wooden staircase.
On the first floor, a landing leads to a living room, four bedrooms and a bathroom.
On the second floor a large convertible attic of about 71 m², under exposed beams and illuminated by a window to the east.
In the basement:
– a room of 35.18 m² (living space). Remains of a monumental fireplace from the fifteenth century. Interior shutters. Opens directly onto an alley;
– a garage of 11.72 m² overlooking the street;
– a 31 m² boiler room;
– a 12.45 m² ribbed shed overlooking the street;
– via a beautiful door with semi-circular arched cavet moulding, access to a cellar of 18.65 m² with two ribbed vaults. The ribs rest on stone bases and an octagonal column supports one of the vaults;
– a fruit tree of 8.05 m²;
– a 33 m² shed, on one level overlooking the garden.
The central heating of the house consists of a 2011 Frisquet brand city gas condensing boiler. It also produces domestic hot water.
Connection to the mains sewerage. The fibre passes through the street.
The roof is made of interlocking tiles for the building and small fish-scale tiles for the tower. Partial overhaul of the zinc works to be planned.
The presbytery has retained many of its original decorative elements but renovation work will be required.
A garden extends to the back of the house and a small garden is not adjoining. In total, the property develops 718 m² including the building.
The town of Olliergues is located in the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, its picturesque and touristic heart is animated by the main local shops, within walking distance: two restaurants, bakery, butcher, small casino, florist, hairdresser and tobacconist. Nursery and elementary schools, middle school, nurses and pharmacy are also present. Courpière is 16 km away, Thiers and its A89 toll is 29 km away.
